Heathrow Community Fund – Communities for Tomorrow

The Heathrow Communities for Tomorrow awards are funded by money collected from Heathrow's airlines that breach the Government's noise limits on departure. Airlines are fined £500 for breaches of 3 decibels or less and £1,000 for over 3 decibels (for more information visit www.heathrowairport.com/noise).

Part of Heathrow Community Fund, the awards are designed to help groups across the Heathrow area to fund projects to support their community and improve their local environment. Groups can bid for awards of more than £2,500 up to £25,000. Awards will be made twice a year.

The scheme is open to local authorities, schools and community groups — this could be a youth club, residents association or charity — within the eight local boroughs around Heathrow (Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Richmond, Runnymede,Slough, Spelthorne, South Bucks).

Awards will be made to exciting local community projects focused on three themes:

  • Climate change and energy;
  • Protecting and enhancing our environment;
  • Reduce, reuse, recycle.
