Staff volunteering
Many airport staff are active in the local community, volunteering their time or fundraising to help the charities and community projects they are passionate about.
The Trust will donate up to £250 matched funding towards a staff member’s fundraising activity, whether they are running a marathon or organising a fundraising event for their local school, youth group or community group.
In 2012 the Trust made grants of more than £130,000 in support of staff activity.
Airport staff also volunteer their time and their skills to help community projects funded by the Trust and local airport community funds.
Current activities supported by our staff include:
- Providing mentoring and careers guidance for young people
- Volunteering in youth groups
- Community team building
- Raising vital funds taking part in a range of events
- Providing business advice to help local charities
